Dr. Chandan Kumar, is the first qualified hepatologist to have graduated from the prestigious Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi under the able guidance of Prof S K Sarin. He has also undertaken short training in Division of Liver Diseases and Liver transplantation, Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, US and in Liver Intensive Care at, Institute of Liver Studies, Kings College Hospital London, UK.

Subsequently he has worked with Prof Rela in the liver transplant team at Chennai. During that tenure, he also conducted Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology training program.

Presently, he is Associate Professor and Consultant, Department of Hepatology and Lead Transplant Physician in SRMC Liver transplant program.

He has several publications in international and national journals to his credit and has delivered many invited lectures and research papers in his field. He has keen interest in promoting liver wellness and disease prevention and aims to treat, educate & research, for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver diseases.
